Dov Torbin has been working as a filmmaker, musician, and cartoonist for the past 20 years.

He began making music in Boston as the lead singer of The Recession Boys before releasing his first solo album, There’s No Basement at the Alamo. After stepping away from performing, he shifted his focus toward filmmaking, writing and directing a series of both live-action and animated short films including Lenny Kravitz Action Hour, A Series of Decisions, and The Infinite Alternate Realities of Larry Sherman.

His work as a cartoonist and illustrator has included the graphic novel The Revolution Will Be Televised, along with various comics, animation and storyboard work.

Torbin returned to recording with his third album, This Is What It Sounds Like When Dovs Cry, a collection of Americana songs written over the course of a decade and recorded with friends at Carriage House Studios.

Whether working in film, music, or comics, his work is drawn to flawed characters, bad decisions, uncomfortable situations, and the comedy that emerges from all three.
